Frequently Asked Questions

What is physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a recognised healthcare profession focused on helping people restore movement, reduce pain, and improve physical function after injury, illness, or disability. Physiotherapists are qualified medical professionals who have completed their medical training and register with national health authorities to practise, ensuring safe and effective care for people of all ages.

Physiotherapists assess, treat, manage and rehabilitate problems involving the neuromuscularskeletal system using techniques such as:
・ exercise therapy
・ manual (hands-on) therapy
・ electrotherapy and modalities
・ movement and GAIT training
・ education and lifestyle guidance
・ taping and bracing; and
・ rehabilitation programmes
thereby supporting and promoting recovery together with long-term wellness.

Sports and orthopaedic physiotherapy targets the higher physical demands and performance needs of athletes, treating sport-related injuries such as acute, chronic and overuse conditions.

No referral is needed, sessions are typically 45 minutes, with the first consultation including a comprehensive assessment.

All our physiotherapists provide expert, evidence-based care.

Do any of the physiotherapists specialize in specific conditions, injuries?

The simple answer is “Yes, many physiotherapists have a "special interest” in specific parts of the body.
Whilst all physiotherapists are trained to treat the entire body and all conditions for the best level of care please visit Physiotherapists to view each physiotherapists profile.

Do I need to wear specific clothing for the session?

It's best to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated.
If your physiotherapist needs to examine or work on a specific part of your body, you may be asked to remove or loosen certain items of your clothing. Your dignity will always be respected.
Typically, you might want to bring or wear:
Athletic wear, gym clothes, or easy-to-remove tops and bottoms (a sports-bra or tank-top if your upper body needs attention is suggested)
